The Bata Drum is a popular African instrument which originated in Nigeria from the land of Yoruba. It consists of three different sized, double-headed drums shaped like an hourglass. Each drum has two skinned coats of different diameters mounted onto the hoops on each of the two ends (mouths) of the drum. The larger end (mouth) is called inu while the smaller side is called chacha.
